Statement: Vice-President Harris And Ceasefire

In response to Vice President Harris’s remarks in Selma calling for an immediate ceasefire, Listen To Michigan campaign manager Layla Elabed issued the following statement:

“Despite the naysayers in the establishment, the Biden administration is moving because of the pressure from uncommitted Democrats.

But let’s be clear: this is a temporary ceasefire, or what they used to call a humanitarian pause.

Our movement’s demands have been clear: a lasting ceasefire and an end to US funding for Israel’s war and occupation against the Palestinian people.

Time is running out: for Gaza and our democracy.”
